Now, more than 125 years removed from its historical origins, Zoo Atlanta has evolved from a quaint picnic stop, where people visited wild animals to a conservation organization seeking to engage the public in the lives of its animal ambassadors and the preservation of their counterparts in the wild. Today, the mission, animals, programs, and people of Zoo Atlanta will ensure that history is made.
With that being said, join us at Zoo Atlanta for an experience like no other! No creature looms larger over the savanna than the African elephant, and you’ll agree when you come face-to-trunk with one of our African Elephant Wild Encounter.
Bring your family to explore the new African Savanna and meet Tara or Kelly, while learning more about them and why they are such important ambassadors for their species. During your African Elephant Wild Encounter, you will go on a guided tour of the habitat, receive a behind-the-scenes look at the Zambezi Elephant Center, and get an opportunity to meet members of the Elephant Care Team. Of course, no encounter would be complete without the opportunity to hand-feed one of the “girls” an afternoon snack.
Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult who has also purchased a Wild Encounter ticket. Children 4 years old and under must be carried or held by an adult at all times. Please note that availability is limited for this tour, so we ask that you book your reservation ahead of time. Reservations can be made online at www.zooatlanta.org.
We know how important it is to participate in all of the latest and greatest activities that take place in our community—especially after a long week at the office. Luckily enough for you, adventure is always right around the corner at Enclave at Roswell Apartments in Roswell, Georgia!
